User-Friendly Operation
Simply pressing the button on the turtle's shell ignites the stars and keeps them glowing for a full 45 minutes--just enough time for most children to drift into sleep. At this point, the Twilight Turtle automatically shuts off to preserve battery life. Another push of the button reactivates the projection. I was slightly disappointed by the Twlight Turtle. I was hoping for a nightlight for my son's room. I guess I expected that it would plug in and that I could sit it on his dresser and it would stay on all night but it was just the opposite. It takes batteries, it has to sit in the middle of the room about 4 feet from the ceiling and it only stays on for about 30 minutes. I still think it's cute and it does help the baby to go to bed but I still wish it would stay on all night so if he wakes up in the middle of the night he can look at the stars and fall back asleep without me getting up and turning it back on. I also thought it would rotate colors as it displayed but it only displays one color at a time. I don't know about you, but we do not have something in the middle of the room that we can set the turtle on - if we put it on his dresser it only displays on that area of the room - it really needs to be in the center to cover the entire ceiling. Even with my disappointments I still like this product.

My daughter is 2 and 1/2 and has been giving us problems with sleeping in her own bed in her own room for months. She received the ladybug for Christmas and it was an INSTANT success. She can turn it on by herself, and immediately wants to get into bed - no more whining, crying, asking for lullabyes, etc. She loves to look at the stars and falls right to sleep! This product is an absolute life-saver.
BTW, we put it in the middle of the floor in her room and while the red stars are hard to see, the green and blue light up very well and are clear enough on the walls and ceiling to distinguish. Love this product!

My daughter loves lady bugs. This item is durable (she's dropped it several times already) and very cute. 3 different hues light her starry sky and keep her occupied until she falls asleep!

Very cute. When sitting on a night table or dresser, the stars are actually pretty big and cartoon-like on the ceiling (about the size of a quarter or maybe a little bigger) instead of being small pinpoints of light, but that's fine. It's nice that it is battery powered and you don't have to plug it in. It's also nice to have a choice of colors.

For Christmas this year, I purchased one for my house (I'm 26.) and one for my nephews (ages 3 and 5). Both places it was a total hit. All 3 colors work great for me just sitting on the edge of my dresser. The amber setting is the faintest, but that could be a positive for a sleeper that prefers a dimmer nightlight. The AAA batteries were not only included but already installed, a great gift feature. My uses are as a nightlight or as a low light for me to get in bed after the boyfriend is already asleep. Plus the stars and moon are really cute and super peaceful. My nephew (the 5 y.o.) loooved the moon too, not to mention going to sleep with a furry turtle (as the newly named "Squirtle"). Don't count on being an astronomy expert, but the mini-constellation guide along with the turtle will definitely give ya the basics. Orion and the little dipper are the best...and come on you naysayers, it IS only a nightlight:)
